Meet Scarlett, a Peruvian volunteer:

Your Journey in Three Inspiring Stages

0. First Three Days: Introduction to the Tropical Rainforest

You will begin your journey with three days dedicated to exploring the rainforest, familiarizing yourself with our space, and understanding our approach to work. This induction phase is essential for your integration into our community.

1. First Month: Following the Local Rhythm

During the first month, you will immerse yourself in the work rhythm of our local team. You will learn from their experience and contribute to our conservation and community development projects.

2. Second Month: Your Project, Your Leadership

In the second month, you will meet with our coordinators, Diego and Yann, to select a project you can lead and contribute to at Chaikuni. This phase encourages collaboration and innovation, allowing you to make a significant impact.

3. Third Month: Growing and Expanding

The third month is a natural continuation. If appropriate, you will take on more responsibilities and contribute more deeply to our efforts. This phase prepares you for a possible transition to becoming a long-term resident.

Becoming a Resident: A New Chapter

If you wish to continue your journey with us, you can apply to become a resident. This position comes with more responsibilities and benefits, including participation in community ceremonies, flexibility in your schedule, and access to our facilities in Iquitos.

Your time with us will be a transformative experience for you and a valuable contribution to our collective effort to preserve the Amazon and empower local communities. We look forward to welcoming passionate and committed individuals like you to our Volunteer Program! Together, we can create a lasting impact on the Amazon and the world.

Responsibilities

Most of the work involves helping in the plant nursery, creating plants for our demonstrative chacra and the chacras of the communities we work with, vegetable gardening, and of course, maintaining the chacras integrales. From the second month, we can identify a specific project you would like to lead that could benefit us, such as helping with promotion and marketing, photography, project design, food transformation, or organizing events with local communities.
